Pandit Madhav Rao Sapre National Creativity
Pandit Madhavrao Sapre was born on June 19, 1871 in the village of Patharia (District Damoh) of Madhya Pradesh, the most senior journalist and literary writer of Hindi language, who founded the journalism in the state of Chhattisgarh. His primary education took place in Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh and high school education in Raipur. He received higher education in Jabalpur, Gwalior and Nagpur.

Pandit Madhav Rao Sapre in collaboration with Mr. Ramrao Chincholkar in January, 1900, started editing and publishing Hindi monthly magazine "Chhattisgarh Mitra" from Pendra (District Bilaspur) of Chhattisgarh. It was the first magazine of Hindi language in the then Chhattisgarh state. The story of "Sapre ji", published in this magazine, "basket filled soil" has the distinction of being the first original story of Hindi.
He composed many important books and also translated Hindi "Geeta Mystery" written by Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak in Marathi. Sapre ji translated the Marathi texts "Sriman Mahabharat-Mimansa" in simple Hindi as "Mahabharat Mimansa" by Rao Bahadur Chintamani Vinayak Vaidya.
The Chhattisgarh state is proud as the great ascetic and successful writers and journalists' workmen like late Pandit Madhav Rao Sapre. In the days of freedom struggle, Sapre ji contributed significantly to the development of national consciousness among the general public with his writing. In order to promote girl child education, she founded Jaanki Devi Kanya School in Raipur in 1912 and in 1920 also contributed significantly to the establishment of National School.
Sapre ji started publishing Hindi Mathematical Magazine from Nagpur in May 1906 to organize the Hindi literary writers, but due to the growing popularity of this magazine based on nationalist ideas, then the British government should stop publishing it in 1908. After few months he was released from jail. About 200 essays of Sapre ji were published in many journals on contemporary socio-cultural topics. In 1924, he was elected president at All India Hindi Sahitya Sammelan held in Dehradun. Pandit Madhav Rao Sapre passed away on 23 April 1926 at his residence in Tatipara, Raipur.
