Pandit Ravi Shankar Shukla was born on August 2, 1877 in the sea. Your education took place in Sagar and Raipur. Undergraduate and educated in law, you were counted among peak lawyers. In 1901, you entered the field of teaching. In 1902, you were appointed as headmaster in the Khairagarh Princely State. After passing the law exam, he started advocating in Rajnandgaon. You were always active for the promotion of Hindi language, in 1922, Nagpur was chaired by the Madhya Pradesh Hindi Sahitya Sammelan. In order to awaken the political and social consciousness in Chhattisgarh, you started publication of the Mahokalokal weekly in 1935.
You were a supporter of the Industrial Revolution in Chhattisgarh. You have the credit for the establishment of Bhilai Steel Plant. Establishment of colleges for Sanskrit, Ayurveda, science and engineering education in Raipur is your inspiration. Your efforts will be remembered for the advancement of Chhattisgarh and for maintaining social harmony here. On December 31, 1956, the politician, great educationist and visionary of this politician was a disaster. Chhattisgarh Government has established Pt. Ravi Shankar Shukla Honor for his innovative efforts in social, economic and educational fields in his memory.
You took over the leadership of the Quit India Movement of 1942 in Chhattisgarh. Before independence, you became the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh and later the first Chief Minister of undivided Madhya Pradesh in the state assembly in 1946. After independence, you also made important contributions to the merger of princely states. You are said to be the maker of modern Madhya Pradesh.
